A full house for lunch.
Every once in a while, Kylie and I host something called MAP: Meals And Practices. We invite new people and other elders and deacons from the Open Door to come for lunch and ask questions about our church and what we do. Mostly, we get to know each other while sharing in one of the Open Door’s key practices: Eating.
We have five practices at the Open Door. What this means is that as a community, we commit to seeking God in five ways:
- Eating together
- Encouraging others
- Giving of our resources (not just money – could be time, talent, etc.)
- Learning together
- Listening together
We really like the eating. Sunday’s menu included gourmet mac-n-cheese, yum-yum salad, apple-butternut-squash soup, and gooey brownies.
